I love sharing images of Briar Cottages on the shores of Loch Earn in Lochearnhead. It was once the crofting lands and home to clans McGregor, local tenants of the Earls of Breadalbane (Campbells) and 200 years of McLarens. We live in the original b listed thatched cottage and love to show off the 300 year old cruck framed Scots pine ceiling. I could never tire of our picturesque south facing views over Loch Earn, Edinample castle and Glen Ample with Achraw Hill at the back. We have one 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom en suite luxury cottage and 1 charming pet friendly 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cottage on the grounds both sleeping up to 4 people. Our guests can fish, launch a small boat or kayak and use the moorings. We have picnic tables, a summer house and a hot tub within three acres. Every day brings its own unique and magic scenery thanks to the sun, clouds, moon, stars, snow, visiting wildlife, water sports, a sea plane, fishing boats, birds and evidence of ancient history. There are two water sports centres and two hotels within 200m plus a cafe, village store and post office. Lochearnhead is so central within Scotland that it makes an ideal base for touring other places and attractions in every direction.
